FAQs
How long does it take to cook the pig?
It could take up to 8 hours depending on the size of the pig.
We will arrive at your venue and set-up our machine and get the pig cooking.
We will stay with the pig during the cooking time to ensure that it cooks at the right temperature and is cooked to perfection.
Do you need any electricity?
Our machine has an electric motor that turns the spit. This requires a small amount of power. If no power is available then we can bring along our quiet running generator.
Please note that we will also need power if you require any vegetarian or hot canape options.
How do we serve your guests?
We like to serve your guests buffet style. The look and feel of the display of food is mouthwatering.
Your pig is carved and placed into our heated dishes. We make sure your meat is carved and ready to eat at the exact time you ask. Your guests can then come along and serve themselves buffet style along with all the trimmings whilst we continue to carve the remainder pig and top up the serving dishes.
This method works very well and ensures that people get to eat in a timely manner. We often serve buffet style under our canopy in front of the Hog roast machine. this allows guests to watch us carve the pig and chat to the Chefs whilst serving their food.
We can serve your guests by individual bun, however we find that this often leads to queing.
What if it rains?
Not a problem as we cook under our 10ft x 10ft gazebo.
If you would like additional cover for your guests we can also provide two 20ft x 10ft heavy-duty gazebos for an additional cost.
Please give us a call for a quote.
What happens to the carcass and any left over meat?
We wrap the meat up for you, as this is yours.
We can take the carcass away or some people like to keep a bit for their dogs.
Do you supply plates and cutlery?
All our menus come with serviettes and if you would like some disposable plates and cutlery we can supply these for an additonal cost.
